(Aeonium canariense var. subplanum x Aeonium decorum)
Description: Aeonium x beltranii is a naturally occurring hybrid between Aeonium canariense var. subplanum x Aeonium decorum.
We really love this hybrid and find the unique shape of the rosettes an extremely fascinating feature. At certain times of the year the rosettes transition into a mesmerising kaleidoscopic star pattern, which will continually draw in your attention.
The foliage is also a very pleasant emerald green colour, which will develop some lovely red coloured tones on the older leaves and leaf margins over the summer months.
The main rosette which is rather flattish, will grow quite large and easily reach 30cm across. Over time the plants will produce a small number of offsets, but we have found that they can often be a little reluctant to do so. So we recommend head chopping the main rosette to force out some new shoots if you wish to have a multi branched specimen.
Plant Care: Plants are strong growing and will form a large plant very quickly if given the room to grow. Easy to care for and look after. Makes a very lovely potted specimen, but will also grow very well in the ground.
Origins & Distribution: Aeonium x beltranii is a naturally occurring hybrid between Aeonium canariense var. subplanum x Aeonium decorum and is found growing naturally on the island La Gomera within the Canary Island archipelago
