Description: Aeonium 'Green Rose'
Aeonium 'Green Rose' is a variegated form of the species Aeonium undulatum.
The variegation is predominantly green and white though-out the growing season, developing beautiful tones of pink on the outer leaf margins during spring and summer.
Like the species A. undulatum, 'Green Rose' is bold in stature, growing to around 1m high and developing a number of off-sets from the base of the plant. Although the variegation is beautiful in its own right, it is its form which makes this cultivar spectacular.
Plant Care: Easy to grow and look after. This is a larger growing cultivar and is best grown in the ground or in a large pot. If grown in a pot, we recommend adding rocks or something similar to the bottom of the pot to act as a counter balance as the plants can become top heavy.
Origins: Variegated form of the species Aeonium undulatum.
Comments: We suspect the name 'Green Rose' has come from the over all green appearance of the variegate and as the rosettes tend to partially close up over summer, resembling a newly opened rose flower. We do not overall agree with this name, as there are many Aeonium species which have for a long time also been commonly known as Green Rose.
