Description: Although we don't like to say we have favorites, we certainly have a soft spot for the smaller growing Aeoniums and this variegated form of 'Firecracker' is no exception!
We love the form this beauty develops and along with its elegant leaf shape and vibrant mix of green, cream and pink colours, makes this variegate a winner.
They depth of colours will change considerably throughout the year and will generally darken throughout the summer months and when stressed.
Plant Care: As the plants mature they often tend to become quite open in structure taking on the appearance of a bonsai twiggy tree. We actually quite like this bonsai look, but if you prefer a bushier and more compact plant then regular head chopping over the growing period will help the plants remain bushy.
Origins: Variegated form of Aeonium 'Firecracker'
'Firecracker' is a hybrid between Aeonium simsii and the well known cultivar Aeonium 'Zwartkop'
Comments: There are many hybrids available which are often very similar in appearance to Aeonium 'Firecracker'
Examples include: 'Cornish Tribute', 'Du Rozzen, 'Black Magic'/'Peacock' and many more.
They all involve the parent species Aeonium simsii, so share some very similar characteristics.
